It’s getting late
I don’t feel great
Pain in my head
Time for bed
It’s getting late
I don’t feel great
Pain in my head
Time for bed
Summer sounds changing
Crickets sound chilly chirping
Cicadas silent
I have a new phone
Only adding apps I use
How long will THAT last?

School started Thursday
There was still so much to do
We enjoy Friday
Battery is low
Quickly typing my haiku
15% left
Bedtimes come quickly
Lunches are packed
New clothes are prickly
The buses come back
The summer was fun
Three months just flew
Now is the time
To get back to school
Teachers will welcome
School bells will ring
Kids pack the class rooms
All back in the swing
The same thing happens
Year after year
Kids making memories
Someday they’ll hold dear
August evening breeze
Whispering September’s chill
Summers always end
New pine cones growing
Look like kosher dill pickles
No, they don’t taste good
There was a guy turning fifty
He thought half a century seemed nifty
In his mind he’s still young
Full of mischief and fun
But his aging body is iffy.
