Wish I had a poem
There must be one in my head
Nope, can’t think of one
Wish I had a poem
There must be one in my head
Nope, can’t think of one
Two times to the pool
Double dipping this summer
Splashing laughing fun
We walked the path to the river today
casting modern life away
The lapping water and calling birds
were peaceful, timeless sounds we heard
Someday the boys will be grown men
they will follow their own callings then
But just for this moment
we froze time
Down by the river,
these boys of mine
Baseball with the boys
Excitement and emotion
An eight year old’s joy
Summer passing fast
Mother’s counting school supplies
Kids still having fun
Wearing crocs and socks
I’m not very elegant
My feet are comfy
Writing code today
I’m editing PHP
Pray and back up files
The year is half gone
I have not run out of poems
My muse keeps working
On days of heat and humidity
Grateful thoughts occur to me
For throughout most our history
As the temps would spike the mercury
We had no choice but sweltering
But now we enjoy electricity
Oscillating fans and max AC
We shut the windows and close the door
And keep the room at 64
