Welcome back Coco!

Here to help the Indians
Welcome back Coco!
It’s a page turner
My old glasses cause eye strain

Extra inning game
No runs after nine innings
One wins it in ten
Humility is out of fashion
“Me first!” has become the passion
Being last has lost some luster
“I’m a winner!” proclaimed with bluster
But as you go about your day
Maybe take some time to pray
When you approach that pearly gate
You’re last in line, won’t need to wait
(Based on today’s Gospel, Lk 14:1, 7-14)
Fat from the butcher
Soon to be rendered and strained
Hope the birds like it.

Our man had four hits tonight
Good night at the plate
Summer remains here
Humid air hangs post-sunset
Swimming through the night
Still more than two months
Presidential election
I am discouraged
It’s getting late
I don’t feel great
Pain in my head
Time for bed
Summer sounds changing
Crickets sound chilly chirping
Cicadas silent
