Feels like two degrees

Post Election Advice
The ballots are cast
But they are still counting
Predictions come faster
Than a fire hose fountain
Despite our exhaustion
The pundits still talk
Relax, take a nap
Perhaps a long walk
If booze is your thing
Try that too
Whoever you are
You should be you!
Cicadas Sing Summer’s Swan Song
Cicadas return
They now sing summer’s swan song
The sun will set soon
Ash Wednesday Haiku
Asking my Lord’s help
Keep me from hypocrisy
Today and always
We are here again
Mid-August arrives
Yellow buses fill the streets
Summer always ends
Late summer scene
Windows are open
Chirps of crickets in the breeze
A soft summer night
Short Summer
Observe the midges
A mighty murmuration
Their summer is short
Starting Green
Leaves are lit from the street lamp behind
Still bright green from springtime sprouting
Still glistening from Sunday’s rain
Waving in the cool evening
Like a starter’s flag
They tell us
Go!
Apology from a missing poet
My poem-a-day project
got off to an awesome start
I would forego commerce,
preferring to make art
Then my time for leisure
dwindled, disappeared
Forgive me, my dear reader!
I’ve abandoned you, I fear.
Shivering Spring in Ohio
Spring is springing
The birds are singing
It is a sunny day
But the temps remain frigid
This March lamb is timid
and can’t scare that lion away!
