Old Seamus came from Patrickswell
His voice rang out just like a bell
All day long it would ring
The fool thought that he could sing
Townsfolk knew he sounded like Hell.

One Month
one month seems short
one month seems long
can you wait thirty days?
28?
31?
Have we finished
or
just begun?
80 Days
The gondola sways
In the clouds for eighty days
Air legs under me
Young people living
The old man laments
“Youth is wasted on the young!”
The young disagree
Lost Chimes of Time
Hearing bells ringing
The clock tower is booming
Time passes, singing
Pause
Please pause a moment
The sun is at his zenith
Your shadow is small
Gardening
Tend to the flowers
Prune, protect and water them
Enjoy their beauty
Dismissive
She said she “word paints”
Syllables, her medium
Critics get brushed off
Eleven months
Eleven months
We just have eleven months
Christmas Eve is near
Snow Falling
See the snow falling
Swirling, blowing, covering
Thin tree limbs will bow
